Travelling from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Kuwait requires an online tourist visa. In 2025, the process was updated to enhance security and simplify applications. Meanwhile, Kuwait mandates visas for most foreign nationals, including UAE residents.

Citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries can enter Kuwait without a visa; however, immigrants residing in the UAE must secure a visa before travelling to Kuwait. Kuwait offers various visa types, including tourist, business, work, domestic, and dependent visas.

This guide provides a step-by-step approach to help UAE residents apply for a Kuwait visa efficiently.

Before starting,  it is important to determine what type of visa you need, Common visa types include:

  • Family Visa
  • Work Visa

Documents Required Kuwait Online Visa

When applying for a Kuwait visa from UAE, you must have the following documents.

  1. Valid Passport: You must have a valid passport for at least six months from the application date.
  2. UAE Residency Permit: Valid GCC residency permit for at least six months.
  3. Passport-Sized Photographs: Recent photos meeting Kuwait’s visa specifications.
  4. Proof of Accommodation: Hotel reservations or an invitation letter from a host in Kuwait.
  5. Return Flight Tickets: Confirmed return flight tickets.
  6. Proof of Profession: Depending on your profession, Certain professions may require additional documentation (e.g., doctors, engineers, teachers, etc.).

How to Apply Kuwait Visa From UAE?

Now, I will tell you the process of applying for a Kuwait e-visa. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Go to the Application Portal

Go to the official website of Kuwait for an e-visa application. On the website, you will see the list of countries that are eligible for the e-visa.

Step 2: Select the type of visa

When you go to the offical website, in starting you have to select what type of visa you need. It is depends on you.

Step 3: Determine Your Eligibility

The first question is about regarding your residency, you must have answer. The question is Do you have a current resident permit in a GCC country?” if your answer is yes then you will have to choose which country residency do you have. Slecet the UAE.

Next, you have to select your passport nationality. If you have a Pakistani passport, select Pakistan. After that, you have to select the type of passport and enter your passport number.

Step 4: Any Previous Visits to Kuwait

The next question asks whether you have visited or resided in Kuwait before. If this is your first time, select No. After that, you have to enter your email address. Make sure that it is a working email address.

After entering the email address, click on the “I agree” button, type the characters displayed on the screen, and then click Next.

Step 5: Application for a Visa

After that, you will see a page about the Kuwait e-visa application. Then select the Visitor visa. Previously, if you held any nationalities, then you had to answer the questions.

After that, you have to enter the expiration date of your GCC residency permit. Then select your occupation from the list and add your place of birth and date of birth.

Step 6: Upload Documents

After that, you must confirm that your residence has been valid for at least six months. Upload images of your Iqama and your passport application, which is ready.

Step 7: Add your Personal Information

Now, you must enter your first and last name. Then, you must enter your passport number, place of issue, issue date, expiry date, marital status, and education level. Then click on Next.

Step 8: Submit & Track

Then complete your payment and submit your application; within 2 to 3 days, you will receive the email for the e-visa approval. You can track your visa application status by using your reference number.

  • Application Fee: The initial fee for the Kuwait e-visa is 3 KD (Kuwaiti Dinars), but it can vary depending on your nationality. You can pay the fee online by using your credit card.

Processing Time

  • Standard Processing Time: usually, the e-visa applications are processed within 24 hours. Keep in mind that Fridays, Saturdays, or public holidays in Kuwait are not included in working days.
