It is possible to lose your Emirates ID card or damage it if you travel a lot or use your Emirates ID for various government-related services. If you suspect that your Emirates ID is stolen, then you can request the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security or ICP to block and renew your card.

Important Notes to Take If you lost your Emirates ID Card

If you don’t want your Emirates ID to be misused, then you need to follow these steps to ensure you are safe from any illegal activity.

Step 1: Reporting the Theft or loss of your Emirates ID Card

To make physical proof that you are not the one using your Emirates ID card for any activity after it is lost, you need to ensure you report the theft or loss of your Emirates ID Card.

Step 2: Deactivating your Emirates ID Card

After you have reported the incident, you can move on to deactivating your card to ensure that no one can use it. If you don’t deactivate your card as soon as possible, it can be used for any fraudulent activity. You have several options to deactivate your card:

  • You can use Google Maps to find the nearest typing centers or happiness centers in the UAE.
  • You can also call their helpline at 600522222. Follow the instructions and provide the necessary information to the representative.

Step 3: Reporting the Damaged Emirates ID Card

Damaged Emirates ID cards cannot be used for any services in the UAE, so you need to first report it and then renew it as soon as possible. Ensure that you bring your old card and identification papers during the renewal process. The identification papers can be different for different people, which can be:

  • UAE Nationals: Original valid passport with a family book.
  • GCC Nationals: Documents showing residency in UAE.
  • Expatriate Residents: Original Passport stamped with residency permit.
  • Children under 15: Original birth certificate with passport-size photo.

Renewal of Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Emirates ID Card

If you want to replace your Emirates ID car,d then you can follow the steps below:

1: Visiting an ICP Center: The best way to report and deactivate your card is to visit an ICP Customer Happiness Center. 

2: Information Needed: Ensure that you bring a valid form of Identification with you.

  • UAE Nationals need to bring their original passport with the family book.
  • GCC Nationals need to provide proof of residency.
  • Expats need to bring and provide their stamped passports with a residency permit.

3: Application Form: You can also fill out the form for the replacement of Emirates ID through the UAE ICP app.

4: Payment: The replacement fees for Emirates ID are:

  • For a new card: Dhs300
  • Online application fee: Dhs40
  • Express Service charges: Dhs150

5: Delivery: You can receive your new card within 48 hours for regular service and within 24 hours for express service.

  • Passport size latest photo with white background
  • Copy of old Emirates ID

3: Form: On the website, you can see a form that you can fill out with your details. Ensure that all the information is correct.

4: Submit: Finally click the “Submit” button to finalize your process.

5: Payment: Now you can pay AED 562 for the replacement of your Emirates ID.

Now, wait for any further instructions you will receive through the text message on your SIM or WhatsApp number. You will receive all the information regarding the expected delivery date.
