What is a Qatar ID?

The Qatar government issues Qatar IDs, officially known as the Qatar National Identity Card, to its citizens and foreigners.

This ID card contains essential information such as the individual’s name, signature, sponsor information, nationality, date of birth, and a unique Qatar ID number.

It is essential for various activities, including employment, banking, obtaining a driving license, accessing government services and more.

Qatar ID Number

The Qatar ID number is a unique 11-digit number stored in the government database. It confirms the foreigner’s residency rights in Qatar. Commonly in Arabic, it is called IQAMA. Below You can understand your Qatar ID number:

  1. The first digit is based on the year of birth. The number is allocated. For example, if you were born between 1900 and 1999, your number will be 2. If you were born in 2000, your number would be 3.
  2. The 2nd and 3rd digits are the last 2 numbers of your birth year.
  3. The 4th, 5th, and 6th digits are your country’s ISO code.
  4. The last 5 digits are the number of Qataris born in the same year as you.

3 ways to check Qatar ID

1: Check your Qatar ID by QID number:

  1. You can check it out here or go to the MOI Qatar ID offical website.
  2. Then go to the MOI Qatar ID Check Portal
  3. Enter your QID number
  4. Type the captcha
  5. Then click on the “search” button.

If you enter the incorrect QID number, there will be no results. Then simply click on the reset button and follow the steps again to receive the results.

2: Qatar ID Check by Passport Number:

  1. Go to the MOI Qatar ID website.
  2. Enter your passport number
  3. Then select your nationality from the drop-down menu
  4. Then click on the search button

3: Qatar ID check on the Metrash2 app
